Arthur Fitzhugh III is a proud girl dad, artist, and curator from Baltimore, MD. He currently works as the Curator and Liaison Manager at Charm Cultural Cultivation (CCCC), a non-profit founded by world-renowned artist Derrick Adams. His role includes managing the building and artist residency program at The Last Resort Artist Retreat (TLRAR), curating exhibitions in the on-site gallery, and overseeing current and future events across the CCCC locations. His most recently curated show, “Tilted Halos,” opens on June 6th, 2026, at TLRAR Gallery and features the incredible, multifaceted artist G. Pack (Gentry Pack).
He also serves as the Programs Coordinator at the Black Arts District in Baltimore, MD, where he supports the revitalization and continued activation of indoor and outdoor community art spaces surrounding historic Pennsylvania Avenue. His responsibilities include managing the monthly Black Artist Fair and developing enrichment programs that provide local artists with access to vital resources such as classes, mentorship, and funding.
Arthur has been deeply connected to Baltimore’s creative community for years. Prior to his current role, in 2024 he served as Community Manager under Maryland Art Place at 410 Lofts. While in this role, he conducted all artist interviews for prospective residents at 410 Lofts, organized events, and assisted in managing shared community spaces including the community garden (and garden club), the courtyard, sound rooms, and collaborative artist spaces. He also implemented new booking systems that made it easier for residents to submit requests to have events/book the spaces. Through this work, he built close relationships with many of the artists who currently live and work in the building today. This work was also closely aligned to his previous work as a Leasing Agent/Resident Services Coordinator (for 3 years) with Southern Management Corporation, where he developed a strong relationship with hospitality and the management of both residential and art spaces.
Arthur also attended Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Penn State University, and he is currently completing his Bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Baltimore with a focus on Arts Administration. He was also recently personally recruited by José Ruiz, the Director of MICA’s Curatorial Practice Graduate Program, to start the program early this Fall. Arthur’s curatorial practice focuses on innovative storytelling at the intersection of art and the human experience. Through interactive installations and immersive gallery environments, the exhibitions Arthur curates invite audiences into one-of-a-kind spaces that often engage all five senses. He’s also had the privilege of curating several exhibitions at over 10+ galleries in the city, like Baltimore Unity Hall, The Eubie Blake Center, and School 33, that exclusively feature artists like Liz Miller, Murjoni Merriweather, Hope and Faith McCorkle, Bria Sterling-Wilson, etc., who live, work, and are based in Baltimore. He is also a professional art installer and a previous employee of Wesley Clark’s art installation company, Artist Eye Installations.
Looking ahead, Arthur intends to expand his impact as both an artist and curator in Baltimore and beyond. His long-term vision is to bring beauty and intentionality to art gallery spaces across the city, creating inclusive hubs that support and uplift artists from all backgrounds within their local communities.
